Teachers in Charge: Mr. George Klokkaris, Ms. AndriLoucaAims:Football is the most popular sport in the world and asexpected the club had many participants. All the studentsthat took part in the activities of the club werevery enthusiastic and enjoyed every single minute! Theactivities combined learning and playing.The famous football player (legend of Anorthosis )Stefanos Lysandrou visited our premises and talked tothe members of our club about the life of a footballplayer, about training and football academies.In another activity we visited the training centre of thefootball team AEK Larnaka where the manager of theteam gave us a tour and talked about the team. We alsohad the chance to talk to the players and watch theirtraining.Moreover we visited the football stadium of the teamAnorthosis where the communication manager of theteam gave as a tour of the stadium, the shop, as well themuseum of the historical team. It was an amazing experience.On all club days the pupils spent a couple of hours playingfootball in the Futsal courts of our school. All thepupils that took part in the activities, learned a lot aboutdifferent aspects of football and developed a greaterrespect for it.Teachers in Charge: Dr. Simon Philips,Ms. Panayiota Athanasiou, Ms. Panayiota DemetriouAims:This year we visited the traditional lace-makingvillage of Lefkara, the old oak tree (though wedidn’t tie a yellow ribbon) at Kato Drys, Stavrovounifor some spiritual inspiration andCape Greko for the outstanding sea viewsand unique plant life. We also journeyedtoChoirokoitia to see the remains of theancientcastle and the Neolithicsettlement,Athalassa Park and itsenvironmentalvisitor centre and Ger- masogeia damand nature reserve. Final-ly, how could weforget Larnaca? Wedidn’t! We visitedthe Hala SultanTekke mosque, a government-listed Ancient Monument,aswe soaked in the sun andscenery at the salt lake.
