Teacher observation of student skills<br />
Objective and short-response tests<br />
Response to stimulus tasks e.g. guest speaker, case studies, film, role play<br />
Reports on excursions, observations of children, childcare environments<br />
Non-written tasks e.g. posters, collage, photo essay, story reading<br />
Where possible, students will be assessed in real and/or simulated early childhood situations.<br />
Homework<br />
This is consistent with the outline given to all Year 11 students. The amount will vary throughout each semester,<br />
depending on the requirements of each topic or elective.<br />
Career Pathways<br />
This subject is linked to employment in the early childhood field but you will require further tertiary<br />
certifications to qualify e.g.<br />
Home based childcare provider<br />
Assistant in a childcare centre<br />
Nanny<br />
Assistant in early childhood setting (kindergarten and Pre-school to Year 3)<br />
