To ease the administrative burden of the testing and scoring process,<br />

<strong>GL</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong> offers a range of additional options:<br />

Overprinting Services – This involves the printing of candidate name,<br />

date of birth and other details such as Pupil Registration Number or<br />

School Number on to the OMR (Optical Mark Registration) sheets.<br />

The benefits of this include shorter testing times, accurate readable<br />

information and it also speeds up the electronic scoring process.<br />

Administration Service – If schools require complete impartiality from<br />

the testing sessions, <strong>GL</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong> can arrange for experienced<br />

educationalists to administer the tests to groups on site.<br />

Registration Services – <strong>GL</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong> offers a hassle free online<br />

registration system that operates on our secure online testing platform,<br />

Testwise. This can help reduce the high levels of administration facing<br />

schools<br />

Scoring – To save time <strong>GL</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong> offers a <strong>quick</strong> and reliable<br />

scoring service that produces accurate results and reports within a<br />

maximum of 15 working days after receipt of tests. Results are sent<br />

electronically in Excel/ CSV and/or PDF format and so can be imported<br />

into your school’s Management Information System. Our scoring service<br />

guarantees a much higher level of accuracy in the marking,<br />

interpretation, analysis and calculation of scores<br />

Data Interpretation Services – A range of data interpretation services<br />

are available. The most popular of which involves the analysis of test<br />

results against admission criteria that a school or authority has in place<br />

and the subsequent banding of results so that customers can see<br />

immediately which candidates have been successful in their application<br />

and which have not made selection. Information can be supplied as raw<br />

data or as a report. Data interpretation services are also available for<br />

customised tests such as target setting or evaluation effectiveness of<br />

literacy or numeracy initiatives. Data interpretation can help you identify<br />

information and embed it fully into ongoing teaching and learning<br />

practices.<br />

Standardisation – Customers can choose to have their results<br />

standardised. <strong>GL</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong> can organise the production of<br />

conversion tables based on your own local data, providing samples<br />

include at least 300 children. Local standardisation can have an<br />

advantage over national standardisation in that it is completely<br />

independent from the state run system, and that it allows local decisions<br />

to be made based on local results that are not influenced by national<br />

data. Results can also provide a much higher level of differentiation<br />

giving finer detail on where to set a cut-off point. In some cases, national<br />

standardisation may be more appropriate.<br />

Familiarisation materials<br />

Where tests are being used to aid decisions on admissions there<br />

is a strong argument that children should be provided with a<br />

good grounding in the format and type of questions they are<br />

likely to face before sitting the tests themselves. <strong>GL</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong><br />

can supply different kinds of material for this purpose.<br />
