New Group Reading Test Scoring & Reporting
Service
Marking, managing and interpreting your data is made easy with our New
Group Reading Test Scoring & Reporting Service. Our comprehensive
service takes the work out of using NGRT to deliver fast and accurate
results in a range of reports tailored to your needs.
Designed to ensure that you gain full value from the data NGRT provides,
our recently launched Testwise Reporting System (TRS) has transformed
the traditional service administered by post to a fully functional online
service. The service guarantees a much higher level of accuracy in the
marking, interpretation and calculation of scores, a reduction in the
turnaround time for reports and the option to order additional reports
easily. Data files in Excel and CSV format and even PDF reports can be
imported directly into your School Information System, providing
immediate and easy access to detailed pupil portfolios in addition to test
scores.
In order to subscribe to the NGRT Scoring & Reporting Service, you must
pre-register, call 0845 602 1937.
For schools that choose to score their own papers, a brand new Online
Marking Tool (OMT) can be purchased. Please call 0845 602 1937 for
further information.
To make the administering and scoring of NGRT more efficient, we can
overprint candidate name, date of birth and other details onto your
answer sheets prior to administration of the tests. The Overprinting
Service includes new booklets specifically for scoring NGRT and these
must be used to enable scoring to be carried out.

York Assessment of Reading for Comprehension: Passage
Reading Primary and Secondary (YARC Primary and YARC
Secondary) (pages 28–31) are an ideal follow-up assessment to
NGRT. Whilst NGRT screens and monitors the reading ability of
pupils on a group level to identify those with potential difficulties,
YARC Primary and YARC Secondary will enable you to carry out
and in-depth, individual assessment of a pupil’s decoding and
comprehension skills. A wealth of invaluable diagnostic information
on a pupil’s reading skills can be used to inform timely and
appropriate intervention strategies.
