Dyscalculia Screener Digital is an
innovative online assessment that
identifies dyscalculic tendencies
and recommends intervention
strategies. Fully standardised, this
30 minute test is an ideal tool for
screening an entire year group or
just those pupils showing some
signs of difficulty. It can play an
important part in helping teachers
distinguish between those
individuals who have poor maths
attainment and those whose
difficulties are associated with
dyscalculia.
Number Comparison sub-test – asks
the pupil to select the larger of the
two numbers Arithmetic
Achievement subtest
asks the pupil
whether the answer
shown is correct
Dyscalculia Guidance
Once a pupil has been identified as having dyscalculic tendencies and
intervention strategies have been put in place, ongoing support in the
classroom and small group settings is essential. GL Assessment’s
Dyscalculia Guidance is an invaluable resource for this purpose,
providing specialist teachers with practical advice and support from preschool
through to university level. Featuring sensible advice and effective
activities, including many photocopiable resources, Dyscalculia
Guidance helps build foundation knowledge vital to the progress of
dyscalculic pupils.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
The screener provides a true measure of a pupil’s facility with numbers
through evaluating their ability to understand number size, simple
addition and simple multiplication. Adaptive testing ensures that
individuals enter the test at an appropriate level and are taken out of the
test if the questions become too difficult.
In addition to instant scores, Dyscalculia Screener Digital offers a range
of instant reports, including a useful individual report that is specifically
designed for communication with parents.
Why use Dyscalculia Screener Digital?
• The Dyslcalculia Screener Digital is an important first stage asset to
any SENCO or learning support teacher who has concerns about a
pupil
• All practice, instructions and timings are computer-administered,
enabling easy test administration
• Enhanced individual reporting shows the results of each subtest and
provides recommendations for the next steps, enabling teaching to
be tailored to a pupil’s individual learning needs
• The diagnostic group report offers a convenient way of assimilating
and storing results for a group of readers
• A comprehensive parent/carer report plus further guidance and letter
templates will help support your communication with parents and
carers both before and after screening
a complete approach
the Dyscalculia Guidance in our portfolio
GL Assessment’s Dyscalculia Guidance is an invaluable resource for
providing ongoing support for those pupils identified as having
dyscalculia. However, prior to this, teachers will need a tried and
tested screening tool to identify those pupils who may have a specific
learning difficulty such as dyscalculia. GL Assessment’s Dyslexia
Screener Digital (page 53) fits the bill perfectly. The standardised
assessment will help teachers identify pupils whose difficulties are
associated with dyscalculia.
