Compete in 2008 Fletcher World Series<br />
The Columbia Mudcats recently participated in<br />
the invitation only 2008 Fletcher World Series held<br />
in Charleston, SC on July 4-12. They finished the<br />
tournament 3-3-1. The Columbia Mudcats are a<br />
14U USSSA baseball team with players from area<br />
NE high schools. The Mudcats finished their 2008<br />
regular season placing 1st in 6 of the 11 tournaments.<br />
In Charleston, the Mudcats defeated the Goose<br />
Creek Diamondbacks, who went on to win the World<br />
Series, in an earlier preliminary round.<br />
Visiting teams from Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico,<br />
Georgia, Ohio, Goose Creek and Charleston, SC help<br />

complete the 11 team series. Special recognition was<br />
given in the individual competition to the Mudcats<br />
centerfielder, Brandon Burris, who completed a trip<br />
around the bases in 13.09 seconds. Brandon finished<br />
1st of all the participants.<br />
Team sponsors included Ben Satcher Ford,<br />

(Blythewood), D’ Wings (Blythewood) and several<br />
local friends made contributions. The Columbia<br />
Mudcats are coached by Billy Purvis, Fritz Lail, and<br />

Soho Hero Meeting Center<br />
Soho Hero in the Village at Sandhill has expanded its<br />
business to now offer a meeting place for businesses,<br />
churches or anyone needing a place to conduct business.<br />
Soho Hero Meeting Center offers conference rooms to<br />
seat 4-5 people or board rooms that seat 8-10 people.<br />
Both rooms come with a meeting table, wireless internet,<br />
a computer equipped for power point presentations and<br />
a dry-erase board. The meeting center is also equipped<br />
with a kitchenette in case you intend to have food at your<br />
meeting. Free coffee is always available, even if you just<br />
need to use one of the individual stations for WIFI.<br />
Jay and Cheryl Wedeking opened Soho Hero in<br />
December of 2005, and have built the business to what<br />
it is now. Originally, the services available included<br />
printing, shipping and supplies. Now the same services<br />
are available, but with access to the meeting rooms as<br />
