Ben and Kristen DuBard of Five Leaves Farms have been chosen to be delegates from our state to attend the third edition of the biennial international meeting of the Terra Madre Network. Held in October of this year, Terra Madre brings together food communities, cooks, academics and youth delegates for four days to work toward increasing small-scale, traditional, and sustainable food production. The premier event of Slow Food Columbia will be held at Terra Restaurant in West Columbia and will feature local food donated from producers across the Midlands. Tickets for the August 21st event will be $65 for Slow Food members and $75 for the general community. North Point Community Church will be holding a Church-wide Yard Sale Fundraiser, Saturday, Sept. 6, from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Women’s Ministry of North Point will use the proceeds of this sale to offset the cost of transportation they will incur when they attend the upcoming “Women of Faith Conference” later that month in Atlanta, GA.
