“Don’t worry,” he said reassuringly. “You have the <strong>PATH</strong> team here<br />
and we've kicked some major arse in the past.”<br />
Jenny felt comfortable and safe being close to Ryan, She pecked him on<br />
the cheek. They gazed at each other and, as the moment felt right and<br />
the pair kissed, passionately.<br />
The couple spent the night together on the deck. They had been told<br />
about the spark that a Keeper and guide felt when they met their chosen<br />
one. Ryan didn’t think he was a chosen one, because he had acquired<br />
his gift accidentally. However, now with the feeling both he and Jenny<br />
shared for each other, they knew they were destined to be together.<br />
They stayed on deck undisturbed throughout the evening. They chatted,<br />
kissed, sharing tender moments like two inseparable lovebirds. Dawn<br />
broke, and as the sun broke through the scattered cloud to start its daily<br />
shift, it sent a shimmering glow across the ripples of the ocean, making<br />
it glisten.<br />
Jenny said, “I need to prepare something for when we reach out<br />
destination.” She broke their embrace, stood up, and helped Ryan to his<br />
feet. Jenny kissed him again and then went into the control room.<br />
Ryan stretched and looked out over the calm, but barren ocean, with the<br />
vastness and beauty overwhelming him. Leaning on the rail, while the<br />
crew went about their daily routine, he gazed across the ocean, thinking<br />
about Jenny and another chicken sandwich.<br />
Something approaching the ship caught his attention. ‘Strange,’ he<br />
thought, as the object got closer and changed direction, gliding<br />
alongside the ship.<br />
He rushed into the control room. Jenny was preparing her research<br />
materials. She looked up and smiled.
