The elated Church thinks that nothing can spoil this day, not even Ryan moaning as usual about being hungry. Sue tells Church that Granny pearl and Grandpa Jack, their spirit keeper and guide, had already popped in through a portal and visited them, but they had to leave as something urgent was happening in the spirit world. However, the astonishing conversation that Church will have with a strange entity on his arrival home was about to ruin his perfect day.

“What?” Ryan asked.<br />
“Darling, you saw a great white shark.”<br />
Although puzzled by this new power of thought transference, Jenny<br />
went inside the control room. She activated one of the V-com controls<br />
and another piece of equipment. Ryan remained on deck, scouring the<br />
ocean for the shark. He heard something beneath him and looked over<br />
the rail. A yellow torpedo shaped object flew out, landed on the water,<br />
and submerged. Bewildered, Ryan went into the control room. Jenny sat<br />
at a console controlling a joystick. The screen above her showed the<br />
murky underwater world, with a sonar topographic image in the corner.<br />
“What was that?” asked Ryan.<br />
“I launched the soncam. It is a sonar camera, which picks up anything<br />
within a 200 metre radius.” Jenny looked at the screen. Suddenly a large<br />
shape came into view. “There it is!” she exclaimed, and entered in other<br />
instructions.<br />
Ryan watched the screen and saw the dark object, which grew larger as<br />
the small, fast, underwater vehicle closed in on it.<br />
”Got you!” said Jenny. She pressed a button on top of the joystick.<br />
She let go of the control and watched the screen as the camera came<br />
alongside the shark, sending back images and data.<br />
“18 foot, juvenile female,” Jenny beamed, "Incredible...Unbelievable.”<br />
“Shouldn’t you be controlling the camera? What if the shark turns and<br />
moves away?” asked Ryan.<br />
“No problem,” said Jenny. “I hit her with a laser. The soncam will stay<br />
with her and the ship will follow the soncam.”
