A screwdriver

80-grit sandpaper
A clean cloth

BEFORE
HOW TO DO IT
1
Detach the seat pad from the frame
and remove the old fabric, using a
screwdriver to lift stubborn staples.
Using the old fabric as a template, cut
out the seat cover from the new fabric.
I chose Octagon in Ocean Blues Duck
Egg from the INCdecor fabric range.
2Place the new fabric face down on a
flat surface, turn the seat pad upside
down and position it in the middle. Start
by stapling the two longer sides to the
underside of the seat pad, then staple the
shorter sides, continuing to gather and
staple any excess fabric in between. Make
sure the stapled fabric is neat and smooth.
Once this is complete, sand down the
3 woodwork to create a suitable surface
to paint. With the clean cloth, wipe off any
excess dust from the frame before painting.
4Using a paintbrush, apply the undercoat
followed by two coats of paint, allowing
sufficient drying time in between coats.
I chose a water-based paint by INCdecor,
Ocean Blues Duck Egg.
5Leave the paint to dry completely before
attaching the newly covered seat pad.
