YOUTH DEVELOPMENT RULES<br />

1.62. “Productivity Profile” means an analysis, produced by the League using the Productivity<br />

Methodology, of each Club’s track record in developing Academy Players, that is to say:<br />

(a) the extent to which Academy Players coached by or at its Academy have progressed to<br />

become established professional Players; and accordingly;<br />

(b) the extent to which the Club is successful in contributing to the development of<br />

established professional Players.<br />

1.63. “Professional Development Leagues” means the leagues of that name managed, organised<br />

and controlled by the League (in the case of Clubs operating Category 1 and Category 2<br />

Academies) or by the Football League (in the case of Clubs operating Category 3 and Category<br />

4 Academies) and “Professional Development League 1”, “Professional Development League<br />

2” and “Professional Development League 3” shall be construed accordingly.<br />

1.64. “Professional Development Phase” means the Under 17 to Under 21 age groups inclusive.<br />

1.65. “Professional Development Phase Games Programme” means the games programmes<br />

organised by the League and Football League for teams in the Professional Development<br />

Phase as set out in Rules 156 to 162.<br />

1.66. “Qualified Teacher Status” means the accreditation which an individual must obtain in<br />

order to teach in state-maintained schools in England and Wales.<br />

1.67. “Scholarship Agreement” means an agreement made between a Club and an Academy<br />

Player in PLYD Form 1.<br />

1.68. “School Day” means the times when the pupils of a school are required to attend that<br />

school as determined by its governors.<br />

1.69. “Scout” means any person employed or engaged by a Club (whether on a Full Time or Part<br />

Time basis and whether or not he is remunerated in any way for his services) whose duties<br />

include identifying to his Club players whose registration as Academy Players the Club may<br />

wish to secure.<br />

1.70. “Scout Identification Card” means a formal means of identification to be issued by the<br />

League to each registered Scout which shall include:<br />

(a) the name of the Club which employs the Scout; and<br />

(b) a photograph of the Scout.<br />

1.71. “Senior Academy Physiotherapist” means the Official referred to in Rule 99.<br />

1.72. “Senior Professional Development Coach” means the Official referred to in Rule 76.<br />

1.73. “Sports Science and Medicine Programme” means an integrated, interdisciplinary<br />

programme for the provision of sports science and medical, services and analysis as more<br />

particularly described in Rules 213 to 223.<br />

1.74. “Sports Therapist” means a person who holds at least an undergraduate degree in sports<br />

therapy.<br />

1.75. “Technical Board” has the meaning set out in Rules 34 to 36.<br />
