“UK Broadcasting Contract” means any contract entered into by the League for the<br />

Transmission of League Matches within the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle<br />

of Man and the Channel Islands;<br />

“UK Broadcasting Money” means money received by the League under any UK Broadcasting<br />

Contract;<br />

“UK TV Commentary Positions” means the commentary positions more particularly<br />

described in Rules K.54 to K.55;<br />

“Under 21 Player” means a Player under the age of 21 as at the 1st January in the year in<br />

which the Season concerned commences (i.e. for Season 2015/2016 born on or after 1st<br />

January 1994);<br />

“Visiting Club” means the Club playing, which has played, which should play or which<br />

should have played a League Match at the Stadium of a Home Club or, where the Clubs<br />

participating in that League Match share a Stadium, the Club whose name last appears in<br />

respect of that League Match on the League’s fixture list;<br />

“Week by Week Contract” means a playing contract between a Club and a Player which is<br />

determinable by either party on 7 days’ written notice;<br />

“Working Day” means any day on which the League Office is open for normal business but<br />

excluding, unless the Board determines otherwise, a Saturday, a Sunday or a Bank or Public<br />

Holiday;<br />

References to “written” or “in writing” shall be construed to include:<br />

(a) hard copy;<br />

(b) facsimile transmission;<br />

(c) subject to any guidance issued by the Board, email (including any attachment to an<br />

email);<br />

(d) where appropriate, the Extranet;<br />

but shall not include any form of electronic communication other than those listed in Rules<br />

(b) to (d) above. Where a communication is sent by email, the burden of proof of receipt shall<br />

be on the sender;<br />

“Youth Development Expenditure” means expenditure by a Club directly attributable to<br />

activities to train, educate and develop Academy Players net of any Premier League central<br />

funding paid to Clubs solely for the purpose of such activities.<br />

“Youth Development Rules” means the Youth Development Rules which are set out as an<br />

Appendix to these Rules and which form part of these Rules.<br />
