HADRAT ABU BAKR<br />
of the Holy Prophet sa was such a huge tragedy that all the<br />
Muslims were stunned and heartbroken. In Madinah, grown<br />
adults cried like children, and nobody knew what to do.<br />
At this time, <strong>Hadrat</strong> <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Bakr</strong> ra had to remain in control<br />
of his own grief, as well as console the rest of the Muslims.<br />
His ability to keep the Muslims united at this dangerous<br />
time shows his wisdom, determination, and leadership. Of all the<br />
Muslims, <strong>Hadrat</strong> <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Bakr</strong> ra had the closest relationship with<br />
the Holy Prophet sa and felt the most pain at his passing away.<br />
Even though he was full of intense grief, he managed to remain<br />
calm during this time. <strong>Hadrat</strong> <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Bakr</strong> ra not only comforted the<br />
Muslims, but he also guided the Muslims during this difficult time.<br />
The day following the passing away of the Holy Prophet sa ,<br />
people gathered at Masjid-e-Nabawi. Those who had been unable<br />
to take the oath of allegiance to <strong>Hadrat</strong> <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Bakr</strong> ra earlier did it<br />
then. Afterwards, <strong>Hadrat</strong> <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Bakr</strong> ra gave a speech, “O People! I<br />
have never wanted to be the leader, and I have never prayed to God<br />
for this purpose. Indeed, becoming Khalifah has brought me no<br />
joy whatsoever; rather, it seems like a burden that I do not have the<br />
strength to carry. Indeed, this burden cannot be carried without<br />
Allah’s help. Although, I have been made your Khalifah I am not<br />
