Hudaibiyah<br />
In the sixth year after Hijrah, in the month of Dhul-<br />
Qa‘dah, the Holy Prophet sa , along with fourteen hundred Muslims,<br />
set out for Makkah to perform ‘Umrah. The Holy Prophet sa<br />
had already announced that the Muslims were going to perform<br />
‘Umrah, and that they did not want to fight the Makkans. For<br />
this reason they wore their Ihram (special dress for performing<br />
Hajj and ‘Umrah) and had brought along with them animals to<br />
sacrifice. On the way there, the Holy Prophet sa learned that the<br />
Makkans would not allow the Muslims to perform ‘Umrah,<br />
and that if they tried to do so, the Makkans would fight them.<br />
Hearing this, the Holy Prophet sa stopped at Hudaibiyah. Several
