A Wealthy Merchant<br />
& AN Honest Judge<br />
Before accepting Islam, <strong>Hadrat</strong> <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Bakr</strong> ra was a<br />
merchant, and he used to go to Syria and Yemen 4 on business<br />
trips. He made his first trade journey at the age of eighteen, and<br />
within a few years, he was counted amongst the most famous and<br />
wealthy businessmen of Makkah. Those who lived in Makkah<br />
and those outside of Makkah, who had business dealings with<br />
him, liked him and respected him for his honesty, excellent<br />
manners, wisdom, and good advice. Nobody knew the history and<br />
genealogy of the Quraish and its tribes better than <strong>Hadrat</strong> <strong>Abu</strong><br />
<strong>Bakr</strong> ra . He was frequently called upon to act as the arbitrator when<br />
disputes or fights broke out amongst the tribes of the Quraish.
