Are you serious about becoming more fit? With the<br />

right fitness instruction, you can become fit and feel<br />

healthier at any age, and have fun doing it! If you<br />

are looking to lose weight and/or are eager to work<br />

on getting back in shape, this class will help you<br />

achieve your goals. This early morning class will<br />

include a dynamic warm-up/stretch and a variety of<br />

strength and fitness activities, delivered at a slow to<br />

moderate pace to help improve current fitness levels.<br />

Join us to get fit and energized, and jumpstart your<br />

way to a healthier lifestyle! Note: The exercises<br />

can be adapted for varying levels of fitness, but<br />

participants should be comfortable running or<br />

jogging for short dista<strong>nce</strong>s. Please wear athletic<br />

shoes and clothes comfortable for exercising.<br />

Experie<strong>nce</strong> the joy of movement while improving your<br />

fitness level and your sense of well-being. Developed<br />

by fitness experts determined to make getting in<br />

shape more enjoyable, the Nia technique combines<br />

movements and co<strong>nce</strong>pts from Modern da<strong>nce</strong>, Yoga,<br />

Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Jazz da<strong>nce</strong>, Aikido, and other<br />

movement forms. Nia helps improve cardiovascular<br />

health, strength, flexibility, and toning – and is fun and<br />

relaxing too! No prior training is necessary – all are<br />

welcome. Wear loose, comfortable clothing; no shoes<br />

required – we’ll go barefoot. Please bring a water<br />

bottle and a yoga mat for stretching at end of session.<br />

INTRODUCTION TO TAI CHI<br />

Tai Chi is one of the ancient martial arts from China<br />

that has become widely popular today as a gentle<br />

form of exercise that promotes health, strength and<br />

relaxation. The slow motion and controlled movements<br />

make it an ideal form of exercise for men and women<br />

of all ages. Regular practice of Tai Chi can increase<br />

flexibility and stamina, reduce stress, improve bala<strong>nce</strong><br />

and re-energize you, both physically and emotionally.<br />

It is one of the only forms of exercise that becomes<br />
