INSTRUCTOR BIOS<br />
MARY KATE DILLON holds a BS in Nursing from<br />
Simmons College, and is a certified spinning instructor<br />
with over 5 years experie<strong>nce</strong> teaching spin classes.<br />
She works as a school nurse, in addition to leading<br />
enthusiastic spinning classes.<br />
DENISE DRISCOLL has an MFA in Visual Arts from<br />
the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and<br />
a dual BA in Cultural Anthropology and Psychology<br />
from the University of South Carolina. She teaches<br />
Co<strong>nce</strong>ptual Development, Installation and Illustration<br />
at the Art Institute of Boston as well as Drawing and<br />
Mixed Media at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh’s Online<br />
Division. She uses painting, drawing, sculpture and<br />
printing to create collaborative installations that have<br />
been shown at the Boston Center for the Arts, Babson<br />
College, Bunker Hill Community College, Lesley<br />
University, UMass-Amherst, Dana Hall Gallery, the<br />
Natick Center for the Arts and Studio 370. Recent and<br />

KATIE DRISCOLL has a dual MA from Simmons<br />
College in Teaching and Gender and Cultural Studies.<br />
She teaches Social Studies at Pollard Middle School<br />
and has many years experie<strong>nce</strong> teaching SAT Prep<br />
classes, first with Summit Educational Group, and then<br />
for <strong>Needham</strong> Community Education si<strong>nce</strong> the fall of<br />
2006.<br />
DAN ENG started Barleycorn’s in 1998. He has been<br />
instructing novices as well as experie<strong>nce</strong>d beer lovers<br />
in the art of craft beer brewing for more than 13 years.<br />
He also serves as a beer judge at the annual Great<br />
International Beer Festival in Provide<strong>nce</strong>, R.I.<br />
ROBERTO FIGEROA is a professional da<strong>nce</strong>r and<br />
teacher and Artistic Director of Rumba Y Timbal, a<br />
da<strong>nce</strong> company he founded in 2007. Si<strong>nce</strong> moving to<br />
Boston in 2002, he has fallen in love with the world of<br />
Salsa, as it reminds him of his life and culture growing<br />
up in El Salvador. Roberto enjoys performing and<br />
teaching in workshops all over the United States,<br />

MICHAEL GALPERIN has achieved the title of<br />
SAMBO Grandmaster from the World Martial Arts<br />
Allia<strong>nce</strong>, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame<br />
by AAU-USA. He studied with one of the founders<br />
of SAMBO in Russia, and has taught self-defense<br />
Combat SAMBO both in Europe and the U.S. for<br />
various law enforcement, military, and community<br />
organizations for over 60 years. He is the founder and<br />
President of the U.S. Combat SAMBO Assn.<br />
LYNNE GODIN has been a quilt maker for over 20<br />
years. She is a staff member at the Button Box, and<br />
teaches many quilt making classes for <strong>adult</strong>s, from<br />
beginning to machine quilting. Lynne loves sharing<br />
her passion for quilt-making with new quilters. For<br />

BILL GOLDMAN holds a BA in Government<br />
from Colby College and a MS in Accounting from<br />
Northeastern University. He has taught high school<br />
math si<strong>nce</strong> 2006, and began at <strong>Needham</strong> High School<br />
in the fall of 2009. He has taught SAT Prep classes for<br />
<strong>Needham</strong> Community Education si<strong>nce</strong> the fall of 2010.<br />
SERENA GRATTAROLA has a MA from Harvard<br />
University in Roma<strong>nce</strong> Languages and Literature<br />
and a MA from the University of California in Italian<br />
Language and Literature. Born and raised in Italy,<br />
she received her Laurea in Lettere, summa cum laude<br />
from the University of Padua in 1987. Serena has<br />
taught college-level Italian classes at Hamilton College,<br />
Harvard University, Smith College, and UCLA, as well<br />
as classes in the Italian language and culture for <strong>adult</strong>s<br />
through the Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts<br />
in Cambridge and the Harvard Extension School.<br />
She very much enjoys teaching and promoting Italian<br />
culture in the US. Her goal is to be able to transmit to<br />
her students the same love and enthusiasm that she<br />
feels for what she teaches.<br />
