Elegant, rich, delicious, and decadent – chocolate!
Sample and deepen your appreciation of premium
and artisan chocolates in this one-evening workshop.
Before beginning the tasting, you will learn where
cocoa is grown, how chocolate is made, how to care
for it, and factors that influence its flavor and texture.
Then we’ll begin the guided tasting of exquisite
premium and artisan chocolate bars from around the
globe, share our impressions, and choose the best of
the bunch. A materials fee of $10 is payable to the
instructor in class for the chocolates, hand-outs and
bottled water. Limited to 16.

BEGINNING CAKE DECORATING
Heather LaPlante, Owner of Specialty Wedding Cakes,
Instructor
Welcome to the art of cake decorating! This class
is for anyone interested in learning the secret to
creating a smooth, beautifully frosted cake decorated
with borders, writing, sugar roses and more. Taught
by an experienced professional cake decorator, who
has been recently recognized as The Knot Best of
Weddings 2011 Pick for the Boston Area, this class will
teach you how to decorate gorgeous cakes for your
family and friends. You will need to bring supplies,
a frosted cake and additional frosting to the class; a
supplies list will be posted on the adult education page
of the district website (under Community Ed) www.
