YOGA/EXERCISE
Mary Jo Ricketson, Instructor
We all have within us the potential to experience an
optimal state of well-being in mind and body. This
state can be realized through the work of Mind-Body
Training, which includes deep breathing exercises,
cardio-respiratory training, core and strength work,
yoga postures and meditation. The exercises are
performed mindfully to increase our awareness of the
inherent and vital life energy within. We can know and
feel balance, strength, endurance, flexibility, focused
attention and coordination. Through these exercises,
we can also learn to let go of unneeded tension and
tightness to feel renewed and relaxed. Wear loose,
comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and water
bottle to class. Athletic shoes can be worn for the
warm-up and strength training portions of the class.
