AIA New York State announced the winners of its 47th annual Design Awards at an October reception in Saratoga, N.Y., giving out<br />
seven excellence awards, 13 merit awards, and 20 citations. Of these 40 projects, 25 are in-state, nine are out-of-state, and six<br />
abroad, and were divided into 14 categories, including a Best in State, which went to Rogers Partners <strong>Architect</strong>s+Urban Designers<br />
for its Henderson-Hopkins school in Baltimore. Chipakata Children’s Academy (above), in Lusaka, Zambia, designed by a team led<br />
by Susan Rodriguez, faia, of New York–based Ennead <strong>Architect</strong>s, received the merit award for Pro Bono.<br />
