2016 ACPA ANNUAL CONVENTION
CURRICULA & HIGHLIGHTS (A to Z) (CONT.)
PRE-CONVENTION WORKSHOPS
These invited and selected sessions provide opportunities for
convention attendees to engage in deep, sustained dialogue and
learning on contemporary issues most relevant to student affairs
professionals. These workshops will be offered prior to the 2016
Convention on Saturday, 5 March and Sunday, 6 March at an
additional cost. To add a pre-convention workshop to your convention
experience, please visit the Convention Registration Desk.
RESEARCH PAPER SESSIONS
Research paper sessions provide an opportunity to learn about
on-going research in student affairs and to engage in active
discussion about the process and outcomes of research. Research
papers are presented throughout the convention. Two or three
research papers will be presented in each 75-minute session,
with integrative comments from session leaders and opportunities
for audience discussion. These sessions are highlighted in the
program book.
RESEARCH AND THEORY-TO-PRACTICE POSTERS
Research poster sessions are designed for discussions about
research projects that are in process or have been completed.
Presenters display their research on a large bulletin board and are
available to discuss their display and interact with those circulating
in the area. Similarly, theory to practice posters will be on display
and conference attendees have the opportunity to speak with
presenters about the ways in which specific programs and
practices have been developed, refined, and re-envisioned using
theoretical and conceptual frameworks that guide work in the field.
Posters will be displayed on Monday, 7 March from 9:30 AM – 3:00
PM and Tuesday, 8 March from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM in the ACPA
Marketplace (Palais des congrès rooms 516-517A) and presenters
will be available from Monday, 7 March, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM to
