2016 ACPA ANNUAL CONVENTION
CACUSS MESSAGE TO ACPA
On behalf of the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS), we are so pleased to welcome our fellow
Canadian, American, and International colleagues to Montréal! We are excited that ACPA’s first conference outside of the U.S. is in such
a dynamic location. We hope that delegates will take advantage of everything that is unique about this great Canadian city and province
while you are visiting during the conference.
CACUSS is the leader in developing and promoting the student affairs and services profession in Canada. CACUSS was established in
1971 and has grown to over 1600 members working in student affairs at colleges and universities in every province.
CACUSS has worked to support the Program Team of ACPA leading up to this conference by facilitating discussions through Canadian
Advisory Board. The CAB met monthly to discuss issues of inclusivity, education and respect for Canadian culture, and building more
opportunities for Canadian/International delegates to participate in this year’s conference. Our goal was to ensure that delegates felt that
there was something distinctive about this year’s conference. The CAB was excited to share as much about our culture, our system of
post-secondary education, and our approach to our work.
We hope the conversation continues between our two great associations beyond our few days together. ACPA members get the
CACUSS member discount at our upcoming conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba June 19-22, 2016! Registration is open at the early bird
rate until May 1, 2016. Or you may want to return the following year to celebrate Canada’s 150 th birthday at CACUSS 2017 in Ottawa. Our
call for proposals will open in November 2016 and the conference is scheduled June 11-14, 2017 in Ottawa, ON.
