Quite simply, this is <strong>the</strong><br />
most enjoyable bottle<br />
of table wine I have had<br />
in a long time. La Posta<br />
is a winery cre<strong>at</strong>ed Andy Hall<br />
largely through <strong>the</strong> efforts of Laura<br />
C<strong>at</strong>ena, a member of Argentina’s<br />
unofficial wine royalty. This winery is<br />
not about her. Visit <strong>the</strong> website when<br />
you have an opportunity, it is a bre<strong>at</strong>h<br />
of fresh air. You have to hunt for Laura<br />
C<strong>at</strong>ena’s finger print here, it is ALL<br />
about <strong>the</strong> growers. This brand more<br />
than any I can recall, is dedic<strong>at</strong>ed to <strong>the</strong><br />
people behind <strong>the</strong> vines, and as a<br />
consumer, I appreci<strong>at</strong>e <strong>the</strong> effort <strong>the</strong>y<br />
have made. You cannot taste this in<br />
<strong>the</strong> wine, but <strong>the</strong> effort is genuine and<br />
I believe motiv<strong>at</strong>es <strong>the</strong> winemaking<br />
team to craft a quality product.<br />
Ironically, THIS wine is one of two th<strong>at</strong><br />
does not actually broadcast <strong>the</strong> name<br />
of <strong>the</strong> grower on <strong>the</strong> front label. A<br />
classic Argentine blend of Malbec,<br />
Bonarda, and Syrah, it is somewh<strong>at</strong><br />
surprisingly a mid-weight effort th<strong>at</strong><br />
really showcases <strong>the</strong> beauty of <strong>the</strong><br />
flavors <strong>the</strong>se grapes offer. It is not<br />
tannic, showing smooth, soft fruitiness<br />
and only a touch of oak. I served this <strong>at</strong><br />
Thanksgiving and throughout <strong>the</strong><br />
holidays last year, and I continue to<br />

Arpea Brebis is a soft sheep’s<br />
milk cheese th<strong>at</strong> is mild and<br />
smooth. This washed-rind<br />
delight comes from <strong>the</strong> Basque<br />
region of France. It is similar to<br />
Ossau-Ir<strong>at</strong>y but <strong>the</strong> washed<br />
rind makes it slightly more<br />
