The BWC girls keep us up to date with all
the foodie happenings in and around
Cambridge this month
Spring is finally here, and with it the foodie event of the year,
EAT Cambridge! Sian co-founded this event and we are avid
supporters, so we wanted to give you the inside scoop of what’s
on. Local favourite, Burwash Manor, will be celebrating all things
asparagus on 14th May, plus tractor tours, if our great British
weather holds! Foodie haven The Gog will be showcasing
samples of the very best food producers and suppliers in the
country on 21st May - we hear there may even be biscuit icing
for the children. Also, on 21st we can’t wait for the EAT
Cambridge Night Market, featuring our regular street food gems
and a few newbies - make sure to get tickets quick on
www.foodparkcam.com - it’s always a sell out and such great
fun... We can almost taste the churros!
Something a bit different, if you love Instagramming food as
much as we do, is the food styling workshop on 8th May, with
local foodie heroes Franglais Kitchen and Stella Pereira. We can’t
wait to learn how to plate food like a pro! Finally, our regular Ely
hang out, Samovar Tea House, is hosting veggie street food kings
The Wandering Yak for a very special pop up on 13th May - make
sure to book this month.
With spring comes the next seasonal refresh by Development
Chef Rosie Sykes for Pint Shop, and, oh my days, it is
GOOD. The thinking behind the new dishes is to add a little
seasonal refresh, in the form of rabbit and guinea fowl, but
also to incorporate a few ingredients that stretch our foodie
knowledge and tastebuds with less well-known tastes such as
salsify and Cornish sole. It also extends the veggie offering,
with a ridiculously tasty twice-baked cauliflower soufflé which
@eatcambridge
has blown Alex’s mind! We’re also very excited that our next
#CamMamaCollective event will be hosted at Pint Shop on 8th
April, featuring pampering, crafting and, of course, the infamous
pea gin - watch the blog for our write-up or get in touch for a last
minute place!
We’d love to hear what you’ve been
eating, just join in with #BWCeats. We
are @AlexHiggsBWC and @SianBWC on
Twitter and Instagram, we’ve also just
launched a @BoneWhiteChina Instagram
account for even more foodie fun
(and less toddlers)!
