ounces estimated at Alupe in Busia; 139,000 ounces <strong>and</strong> possible reserves of 160,000 of gold at Nakabat<br />

in Moroto District.<br />

4. Iron Ore 50 million tons at Muko, Kabale; 2 million tons in Mugabuzi, Mbarara; 23 million tons at bukusu <strong>and</strong><br />

45 million tons at Sukulu, Tororo District; 48 million tons at Buhara in Kabale District (New discovery); 8<br />

million tons in Bufumbira, Kisoro (New Discovery); 55 million tons at Butogota in Kanungu District (New<br />

Discovery).<br />

Four (4) Mining Leases granted for development of iron ore resources.<br />

5 Columbite<br />

Tantalite<br />

130 million tons of Niobium at Sikulu.<br />

3.5 million tons of Columbite –tantalite estimated at Kagango in Ntungamo District.<br />

6 Tin 1 million tons at 2.5% tin estimated in Ntungamo.<br />

The Sukulu Phosphate deposit is potentially the most important<br />

source of Niobium.<br />

7 Titanium Grade of titanium is 22% TiO2 <strong>and</strong> 13% TiO2 in Bukusu <strong>and</strong> Sukuru respectively. Underdeveloped.<br />

8 Tungsten Kirwa wolfram resources estimated at 801,300 Metric Tons of average grade of 68.67% WO3<br />

Three Mining Leases granted.<br />

One (1) million tons <strong>and</strong> possible reserves of 355 million tons at Nyamuliro with ore grade at 0.1%<br />

9 Rare Earth<br />

Elements (REE)<br />

73.6 million tons of rare earth elements at Sukulu with grade of 0.32% La205. Aluminous clays that are<br />

enriched in Sc<strong>and</strong>ium, Gallium, Yttrium <strong>and</strong> REE in Makuutu area estimated at 3 billion tons.<br />

With grades of 23% REE <strong>and</strong> 27% Alumina.<br />

Unexplored, though Sukulu is now under exploration.<br />

10 Phosphates 230 million tons at Sukulu with grade of 13.1% p2o5.<br />

50 million tons at Bukusu with grade of 12.8% p2o5<br />

11 Limestone/Mable 14.5 million tons at Hima Kasese <strong>and</strong> 11.6 million tons at Dura, Kamwenge.<br />

Over 300 million tons of marble in Karamoja region.<br />

Investment in fertilizer manufacturing is viable.<br />

Apatite with magnetite, vermiculite, pyrochlore, bbarite, zircom,<br />

uranium, titanium, Niobium <strong>and</strong> rare earth elements.<br />

Production on large scale in Kasese, Tororo <strong>and</strong> Moroto.<br />

12 Vermiculite 54.9 million tons at Namekhara. Mine developed at Namekhara<br />

Investment in fertilizer manufacturing plant viable.<br />

13 Kaolin 2.8 million tons at mutaka, Bushenyi District.<br />

Ready domestic market.<br />

One million tons at Kisai (koki), Rakai District.<br />

14 Gypsum 2 million tons in Kibuku. Available Market<br />

16 Glass S<strong>and</strong> The highest quality 99.9% SiO2 at Kome Isl<strong>and</strong>s, 2 million tons at Dimu <strong>and</strong> Bukakata (99.93% SiO2) Viable Investment<br />

17 Dimension Stones Over 300 million tons of marble in Karamoja (Rupa, Kosiroi, Tank Hill, Forest Reserve, Matheniko, Oule <strong>and</strong><br />
