residents must feel the same as us. I
feel that we could be sitting targets for
people to break into our homes. I am
sure that the police can’t cope with any
more call-outs because of all the roads
being left in the dark.
Plans for the autumn fayre are now well
under way. At the time of writing we
still have a couple of tables to hire for
a cost of £10 each. These are for you
to sell your own items either for your
chosen charity or for yourself. If you
are interested please contact either Roy
Minnitt (860980) or myself (862570) as
soon as possible. We try to get a good
mix of outlets to give everyone a chance
to make sales and, for this reason,
anyone showing interest during August
will be contacted during September to
confirm whether or not we have a table
available for them. The only exclusions
are cake and food stalls as we have our
own cake stall and café to raise funds
for the PDA.
We are now looking for bric-a-brac,
books, CD’s and records along with
bottles for the bottle stall, tombola
items etc. Raffle tickets are now on
sale at the Health Centre dispensary,
Taylor’s Pet Foods and the Paper Shop
and from all PDA drivers and committee
members. We already have some
excellent prizes promised and more is
sure to follow. Among those already
donated are a handcrafted oak coffee
table, valued at £400, donated by Chris
Sharp Cabinets, a 42” HD TV donated
by Chestnut Homes Ltd, a starter fish
tank kit donated by Perry Aquatics of
Dunholme and a luxury food and drink
