Family Twinning Association
The vote for Brexit doesn’t change a
thing! Welton and our twinned village of
Moncé en Belin will still enjoy a healthy
twinning relationship; our link is more
than politics, it’s friendship, and over
August Bank Holiday weekend we will
host 48 family twinners. This year they will
be accompanied by four councillors from
Moncé demonstrating the new Mayor of
Moncé’s wish to also strengthen the link
between the councils.
They will arrive on Friday evening to a
reception in the Manor Park pavilion,
giving us the opportunity to celebrate the
20th anniversary since Michel Freslon, then
the Mayor of Moncé, opened the facility
with an international football match.
On the evening of Saturday 27th we’ve
joined up with the junior football club,
who are celebrating their 30th anniversary
this year, to hold a hog roast as well as
a live band. Tickets are now available
from the Paper Shop priced at £19.86
(the club was formed in 1986 if you were
wondering!)

Welton NEWS
As part of our aim to raise awareness
of our twinning with Moncé we took a
promotional stand along to the Sports
and Social Club’s Fun Day. Displaying
information and photographs of Moncé
and our association, alongside some
wonderful work by pupils of St Mary’s
Academy, we also offered tastings of wine,
local to the Moncé area, and French
cheese.
The association is open to residents of
Welton, Dunholme and surrounding areas.
