and Mississippi Nurses Foundation.<br />
Position of Secretary<br />
Candidates who have qualified for this position:<br />
Sandra “Sandi” Arnold, <strong>MS</strong>N, BSN, RN<br />
Biographical Profile: I am Sandi Arnold, a registered nurse from Petal, Mississippi. I was appointed in 2011<br />
as Director of the Council on Nursing Practice. I was then elected in October 2012<br />
to continue serving MNA as Director of the Council on Nursing Practice. I served as<br />
Director of the Council on Nursing Practice through November 2015. At that time, I<br />
was appointed Secretary, and I am currently serving in that capacity. I am employed<br />
at Hattiesburg Clinic in Hattiesburg, <strong>MS</strong> as the Director of Clinical Education.<br />
During my career of 32 years, I have been employed at Rush Hospital in Meridian,<br />
<strong>MS</strong>, St. David’s Community Hospital in Austin, Texas, and at Hattiesburg Clinic. I<br />
have served as a staff nurse, nurse manager, satellite director, and in my current<br />
position as director of education. I started my nursing career with an ADN from<br />
Meridian Community College and then received a BSN and <strong>MS</strong>N in education<br />
from William Carey University.<br />
Professional affiliations include MNA, Sigma Theta Tau – Upsilon Theta Chapter,<br />
National League for Nursing, Medical Group Management Association, and the<br />
Nurse Advisory Council for William Carey University and Pearl River Community<br />
College. In addition, I serve as vice president of a local Breast Cancer Awareness<br />
Team (BCAT). I am a member of Carterville Baptist Church in Petal, Mississippi.<br />
Statement of Intent: As Secretary of the Mississippi Nurses’ Association, I pledge to be accountable<br />
for accurate record keeping and reporting of meetings in a timely fashion. I will<br />
adhere to Robert’s Rules of Order and confirm quorum status at meetings including<br />
the annual MNA House of Delegate session. I will be accountable by affixing my<br />
signature to each document needed to be recognized as an official document. If<br />
elected, I will render my best services to accomplish the tasks assigned to me. In<br />
addition, I will serve as liaison to the Mississippi Nurses Foundation.<br />
I am willing to work in close collaboration with the President of MNA, the Executive<br />
Director, Board members and other leaders within MNA for the betterment of<br />
our nurses throughout the state of Mississippi. I thoroughly understand how each<br />
position on the MNA Board plays an integral role in the successful accomplishment<br />
of the goals of our organization. I feel led to continue serving MNA because I<br />
truly believe as one voice, we can make a difference. I hope you will give me the<br />
privilege to continue serving as Secretary for the Mississippi Nurses’ Association.<br />
