Welcome to
2012, our
Maverick
Region’s 50th year!
Yes, that’s right
friends, your
local Porsche
Club was established 50 years ago
(December, 1962) by several local
Porsche enthusiasts. And by the
way, the very first Porsche Club was
established 60 years ago (1952)
in Germany. So we’re one of the
earliest and largest Porsche Club
regions. We’ll be having articles
and celebrations throughout the
year, with a special committee
focused on communications and
events for our year-long celebration.
So watch for announcements!
We had a great year in 2011, with
our membership growing to over
2,000 D/FW area members. And
there was tremendous participation
in our many
events and
activities, from
Autocross to
Founders’
Day; from All
Member Party to
Sunday Drives;
from Rallies to
May at Mayo’s
- they were all
great fun.
So what are
your plans for
the new year?
Going to join us
on one of the
great Sunday
Drives or finally
sign-up for Drivers’
Education?
Or just drop
in on one of
our monthly
Happy Hours.
Whichever it is,

I’m sure you’ll have a
great time and meet
some new friends. Yes:
it’s truly “not just the
cars, it’s the people!”
Mav of the Month:
Our December Mav of
the Month is awarded
to Christy Payne, for
her terrific service
throughout the year
(and especially at the
end of the year) as our
Social chair. Yes: Christy
is the one in charge of organizing
our parties like our overwhelmingly
successful Founders’ Day celebration,
and our Holiday Party. All who
attended had a great time, and Christy
makes sure it goes so smoothly
(which makes it fun for everyone!).
So thank you Christy for all you
have done as Social chair, and thanks
for continuing in 2012. Enjoy your
gift certificate to the Silver Fox
Restaurant. YOU deserve to be the
“entertainee” for a change.
