Home to magnificent landscapes, the Thames Valley is a great destination to
visit at any time of year. Along its course, the River Thames touches some of
the most famous and inspiring areas of the country and on our visit we take in
the delights of Oxford, Henley-on-Thames, and ‘Midsomer Murders’ Country.
DAY 1: Morning collection from home to join our
coach as we make our way to Berkshire, breaking
our journey at around lunchtime in the Cathedral City
of St. Albans. We depart mid afternoon and continue
to our hotel on the outskirts of Reading for a stay
of 4 nights.
DAY 2: After a leisurely breakfast we travel the short
distance into the beautiful city of Oxford where we
meet our guide who will take us on a gentle guided
walking tour pointing out the scenes well known to
followers of Inspector Morse and his successor, Lewis,
created by Oxford author Colin Dexter. On conclusion
of the tour, we enjoy free time in the city before
returning to our hotel.
DAY 3: Today we are joined by a guide who will
escort us on an excursion through the beautiful little
towns, villages and rolling hills of Oxfordshire and
Buckinghamshire which are used for the filming of
Midsomer Murders. Don’t expect to see filming in
progress but followers of the series may see many
familiar scenes. Even if you don’t follow the series,
enjoy a very pretty part of the country. A lunch stop
will be taken in Henley-on-Thames, home of the
famous Regatta.
DAY 4: Our first visit today is to the market town of
Old Amersham. The broad and picturesque high street
is lined with half-timbered period cottages, one of
which houses Amersham Museum. The choice of
pubs and restaurants is generous and boutiques selling
clothes, shoes, antiques and gifts make for very elegant
browsing. The Crown Hotel, opposite the old Market
Hall, enjoyed a starring role in Four Weddings and a
Funeral. We have time to purchase lunch (not included)
before enjoying an afternoon visit to Chenies Manor,
a Tudor House with enchanting garden.
DAY 5: After a hearty breakfast we leave our hotel
and head into the Cotswold Hills visiting pretty
Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and
Moreton-in-Marsh. We depart during the early
afternoon for the return journey to East
Anglia where our door to door service
will be waiting to return you home.

attractions in our country, from the hustle and bustle of London
to the quiet refinement of Windsor.
DAY 1: Morning collection from home to join the
coach for the drive to RAF Museum Hendon housing
over 100 aircraft from around the world. We
continue to our hotel in Old Windsor in time for
dinner and a stay of 3 nights.
DAY 2: After breakfast we travel into our Capital
City. London brings to mind many iconic images such
as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the London

and the Shard. Discover these landmarks at your
own pace on your day in London, after a short
orientation tour of the main sights.
DAY 3: A day to discover the beauty of Royal
Windsor – a cultural and graceful town based in
the Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, most
famous for Windsor Castle, one of the official

British Royal Family. Windsor also boasts a variety
of high-end bars & restaurants along with fantastic
shopping opportunities located opposite Windsor
Castle in the Grade II listed Victorian Railway station.
Perhaps take a walk or enjoy a relaxing boat ride
along the River Thames.
DAY 4: We bid farewell to our hotel after breakfast
and travel to Guildford before commencing
our return journey. On arrival back in East
Anglia, our door to door service will
return you home.
