& The Edinburgh Tattoo<br />

The magnificent spectacle of the military massed bands in full dress uniform<br />

playing and marching in the perfect setting of Edinburgh Castle is truly<br />

memorable. Edinburgh itself is one of the world’s finest cities, and as the<br />

breathtakingly beautiful capital of Scotland, is an exciting place to visit at<br />

any time of the year.<br />

DAY 1: Morning collection from home to join the<br />

coach for the journey to our hotel in time for<br />

evening meal.<br />

DAY 2: After a leisurely full Scottish breakfast. We<br />

travel to Stirling whose historic Old Town boasts the<br />

finest concentration of historic buildings in Scotland.<br />

Look out for the beautifully preserved medieval and<br />

renaissance churches and mansions, including the<br />

Argyll’s Lodging. This afternoon we take a scenic<br />

drive to stunning Loch Lomond with a stop at Luss.<br />

Irish Coast & Castles<br />

This exciting tour to the top of Ireland features Michael Palin’s coastal rail<br />

journey and the dramatic scenery of the Giant’s Causeway. Wonder at the<br />

wild Atlantic seascapes of Malin Head and take an interesting guided tour of<br />

Derry’s city walls. With accommodation at the Clanree Hotel (the wedding<br />

location of Daniel O’Donnell) in the Donegal region of Ireland this is<br />

a great opportunity to experience the world-renowned ‘Irish Charm’.<br />

DAY 1: Morning collection from home to join our<br />

coach for the drive north to our overnight hotel in<br />

the Cumbria area.<br />

DAY 2: This morning we continue up through<br />

England, cross the border into Scotland and take<br />

the ferry from Cairnryan across the sea to Northern<br />

Ireland. We overnight in the coastal town of Ballygally<br />

and enjoy a stay in the Ballygally Castle Hotel.<br />

DAY 3: Regarded as one of the finest marine drives<br />

in Europe, the Antrim Coast Road passes spectacular<br />

scenery centred round the nine Glens of Antrim.<br />

We follow the coast road to the Giant’s Causeway<br />

where legend tells of the giant Finn MacCool who<br />

created the causeway as a path across the sea to his<br />

lady-love in Scotland. We later follow in the footstep<br />

of Michael Palin on the fabulous coastal train journey<br />

from Coleraine to Londonderry which he describes as<br />

“one of the most beautiful journeys in the world”.<br />

We rejoin our coach for the journey to Letterkenny<br />

for a 3 night stay at the Clanree Park Hotel.<br />

DAY 4: We travel into the Inshowen peninsula with<br />

our local guide. Glorious scenery is guaranteed as<br />

7 Days / 6 Nights Half Board<br />

we enjoy panoramic ocean views and ancient<br />

monuments on our way to Malin Head the most<br />

northerly point in the “Emerald Isle”. Onwards to the<br />

historic city of Derry, where our guide will provide an<br />

interesting insight into the city’s tumultuous past with<br />

a part walking (on the city walls) and part driving tour.<br />

DAY 5: We spend the day exploring the magnificent<br />

scenery of Co. Donegal, beginning with a drive through<br />

the Glenveagh National park. At the heart of the park<br />

lies Glenveagh Castle, a truly romantic vision of Ireland<br />

in its fairytale lakeside setting surrounded by forests.<br />

DAY 6: After breakfast it’s time to leave Letterkenny<br />

and make our way south to our overnight hotel in the<br />

Dublin area.<br />

DAY 7: After an early breakfast, we make the short<br />

drive to Dublin Port for the morning ferry to Holyhead.<br />

On arrival we continue to East Anglia<br />

arriving by late evening, where<br />

our door to door service will be<br />

waiting to return you home.<br />
