Italy’s Tyrolean Dolomites<br />
The villages of Fondo and adjacent Malosco lie in a landscape of incomparable<br />
natural beauty and harmony, situated on a plateau at the foot of Mount<br />
Penegal in the Dolomites Non Valley at Trentino. Framed to the north by the<br />
mountains of the Maddalene group and to the south by the majestic rock faces<br />
of the Brenta Dolomites, this unique setting offers breathtaking scenery.<br />
DAY 1: Morning collection from your home to join<br />
our coach for the drive to Dover and short sea<br />
crossing to France. We continue through Belgium into<br />
Germany for dinner and overnight accommodation at<br />
the 3 star Victors Residenz Hotel in Saarlouis.<br />
DAY 2: An early start as we continue our journey<br />
through Germany and into the mountains of Austria,<br />
crossing the Brenner Pass to reach Italy and our<br />
hotel during the evening for a welcome drink with<br />
our hosts.<br />
DAY 3: A leisurely day with opportunity to explore<br />
Fondo or perhaps take a walk through the surrounding<br />
countryside. Why not take the 15 minute stroll from<br />
the hotel, through the gorge to the emerald green<br />
waters of Lake Smeraldo set against the backdrop<br />
of fir and larch tree woods and the glorious<br />
Brenta Dolomites.<br />
DAY 4: Today’s excursion takes us to Lake Garda<br />
and a visit to Riva with time to perhaps take a cruise<br />
on the lake (cost not included). In the afternoon we<br />
travel to the lakeside town of Malcesine, which lies<br />
in the shadow of an imposing medieval castle.<br />
DAY 5: A full day excursion through some dramatic<br />
Alpine landscapes with jagged snow-capped peaks<br />
and colourful meadows alive with wild flowers.<br />
We will visit Madonna di Campiglio high in the<br />
Brenta Dolomites and also the lake of Molveno.<br />
DAY 6: A mid morning departure from our hotel<br />
for the short drive to Bolzano with ample time to<br />
explore and purchase lunch. In the afternoon we<br />
visit the beautiful Tyrolean lake in Caldaro and<br />
complete our day with an included wine tasting<br />
in a local Tyrolean cantina.<br />
DAY 7: Following some free time, we depart our<br />
hotel late morning for an excursion to the beautiful<br />
spa town of Merano, nestling in the Dolomites.<br />
Merano has some beautiful Austrian architecture<br />
and numerous little shops. Our journey will take<br />
us through some of the most breathtaking scenery<br />
in this area.<br />
DAY 8: An early departure from Italy as we<br />
commence our return drive across Austria and<br />
into Germany to the Victors Residenz Hotel for<br />
overnight half board accommodation.<br />
DAY 9: We return to Calais for a late afternoon<br />
short sea crossing to Dover and our journey<br />
back to East Anglia where our door to door<br />
service will be waiting to return you home.<br />
