The Mayor’s Top Teen nominations are open for teenagers<br />
who are Parkland residents completing 9 th , 10 th , or 11 th<br />
grades at school or being homeschooled in the Broward<br />
County Public School region. Nominations can be made<br />
by teachers, counselors, friends, clergy, or family members<br />
and are due by December 18 th . This is an annual program<br />
that celebrates a Parkland teenager who overcame<br />
a significant obstacle, performed community service,<br />
demonstrated scholastic achievement, set a good example,<br />
or was a positive role model among other successes. For<br />

Community Garden Day is the first Thursday of each month<br />
from 8:30-9:30am at the Parkland YMCA. Everyone is<br />
invited to get dirty and dig in. If weed picking, watering, and<br />
watching your veggies grow is your interest, join us and give<br />

The Whale Raw Bar and Fish House, Parkland<br />
The Parkland Chamber of Commerce is holding its Annual<br />
Holiday networking event at The Whale Raw Bar and Fish<br />
House, 7619 State Road 7, Parkland. Admission fee is $15<br />
for members, $20 for non-members. In lieu of the admission<br />
fee, one may bring an unopened, unwrapped toy of similar or<br />
greater value to be given to needy children.<br />

This annual favorite of the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber<br />
of Commerce is a free, fun event that brings out the creative<br />
side of boat captains as they cruise down the Intracoastal<br />
Waterway. The event is free for captains and spectators. A<br />
panel will judge boat decorations and many prizes will be<br />
awarded at the Captain’s Party at a later date, including the<br />
People’s Choice Award.<br />
