Another year has flown by, our twelfth as publishers of
the Parklander. Thanks to our advertisers, readers,
writers, and the various members of the Parklander
family, the experience has been rewarding and fulfilling.
During the years, we have appreciated the support of the
residents and communities of the areas we cover. This
month’s cover is an example: Debby Richard of Parkland,
an understandably proud grandparent, contacted us to
ask if we were interested in using a wonderful picture of her
grandson, Dominic, for the holiday cover. We couldn’t resist
taking a look, and were instantly captivated by the Norman
Rockwell style of the picture. Our readers can all share this
great, unposed image of a child, captured for all time, who
obviously believes in Santa Claus.
Also, in this December issue, along with the usual pieces
submitted by our talented columnists, we fittingly present
a dozen or so articles dealing with different aspects of the
holiday season. From the manner interfaith couples celebrate
to low calorie cocktails, explaining Chanukah and Kwanzaa,
giving to organizations that give to needy children or winning
a holiday gift, it’s all in this month’s magazine.
As the year closes, we would particularly like to thank Mayor
Michael Udine and the City Commissioners for choosing to
recognize the Parklander’s role in the community for almost
25 years. We look forward to many more years of serving
Parkland, it’s residents and businesses.
We wish all a Happy Chanukah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Merry
Christmas, and a Happy and Health New Year. If you prefer
to be politically correct, we wish you Happy Holidays. Be
safe this New Year’s Eve.
