LIFE+STYLE
Less wrinkles mean less hassle when traveling from
point A to point B and knowing what fabrics pack
well is, well, half the battle.
FABRICS TO AVOID PACKING
Cotton is a ubiquitous fabric that feels good against the
skin and is in everybody’s closet. A personal favorite!
However, 100% cotton is one of the worst materials
you can pack in a suitcase if you want to get to your
destination unwrinkled. If you have to take pure cotton,
roll it neatly in your suitcase to minimize wrinkles and
opt for cotton blend. Avoid silk and linen at all costs -
both are difficult enough to wear and look sharp even
when you are not traveling!
With the advent of Athleisure and technical fabrics
everywhere these days (for men and women) the
delineation between casual and athletic wear and hybrid
fabrications continues to be crossed and muddled.
Good thing for stylish travelers that these clothes are
suitcase friendly!
SO WHAT SHOULD YOU PACK?
A good rule of thumb? Look for materials that are
mixed with something synthetic in them like viscose,
rayon, nylon, spandex or Lycra. These will wrinkle less
and won’t hold lines when you fold them. They are also
what gives clothes that little bit of stretch which makes
them more comfortable!
Here are my go-to
fabrics and designers
that are absolutely
ready to travel!
JERSEY
Lightweight, elegant and
will not wrinkle. My fave is
the DVF iconic wrap in a
modern romper.
