fellowship <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir human hearts. It's as hard or<br />
harder than try<strong>in</strong>g to fall <strong>in</strong> love with George<br />
Wash<strong>in</strong>gton from contemplat<strong>in</strong>g his picture on a<br />
dollar bill.<br />
How can one possibly relate to an anemic<br />
"Christ" with doleful, pious eyes <strong>in</strong> a sta<strong>in</strong>ed glass<br />
w<strong>in</strong>dow? You are told that He is God <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> flesh.<br />
But He seems so remote that any flesh-and-blood<br />
po<strong>in</strong>t of contact is as alien to us as if He were a<br />
man liv<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> moon. Try as you may, you can't<br />
feel a dynamic attraction for Him.<br />
The Problem: False Concepts<br />
Innocently Inherited<br />
New Testament believers saw someth<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
Christ that His enemy has tried to plaster over.<br />
People need to know that it's not <strong>the</strong>ir fault that<br />
<strong>the</strong>y don't know how to love Him truly. False<br />
