and dissatisfied. Although pastors say that<br />

Christ saves you <strong>in</strong> your s<strong>in</strong>s because He has done<br />

it all for you and that you can't do o<strong>the</strong>r than<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>ue to transgress, Magara would like to know<br />

about some "good news" that will do better than<br />

that. If Christ can't save you from s<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g today,<br />

how can you be sure He can resurrect you later on?<br />

What k<strong>in</strong>d of future life would <strong>the</strong>re be if "saved"<br />

people haven't stopped s<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g?<br />

The best "good news" he too often hears is <strong>the</strong><br />

k<strong>in</strong>d that Bishop Fulton Sheen marketed so<br />

entic<strong>in</strong>gly: "One look at [Virg<strong>in</strong> Mary], and we<br />

know that ... because she is without s<strong>in</strong>, we can<br />

Therefore, if this were true, Magara must not<br />

raise his expectations too high. The best he can<br />

hope for is a taper<strong>in</strong>g off, becom<strong>in</strong>g "less s<strong>in</strong>ful,"<br />

but always expect<strong>in</strong>g those "occasional lapses" that<br />
