Christ: Fully God and Fully Man<br />
"Look<strong>in</strong>g unto Jesus" establishes contact with<br />
Him more effectually than transmitt<strong>in</strong>g electronic<br />
command impulses through radio contact with a<br />
planetary spacecraft. Most people who say <strong>the</strong>y<br />
believe <strong>in</strong> Christ seldom have trouble see<strong>in</strong>g Him<br />
as div<strong>in</strong>e. Their problem is see<strong>in</strong>g Him as fully<br />
human as well. Unless <strong>the</strong>y can appreciate <strong>the</strong> full<br />
dimensions of His div<strong>in</strong>e-human repertory of<br />
temptations, suffer<strong>in</strong>gs, and sacrifice, <strong>the</strong>y can<br />
experience no bond of heart-union with Him.<br />
Hence Christ's Enemy has sought to cut <strong>the</strong> bond<br />
that b<strong>in</strong>ds Him to our true human nature. This<br />
clever maneuver has become a highly sophisticated<br />
accomplishment <strong>in</strong> our day.<br />
Roman Catholic dogma, quite extrabiblical,<br />
proclaims that Christ was born of what is called<br />
Mary's "immaculate conception." The idea is that<br />
Mary, Jesus' mo<strong>the</strong>r, was miraculously wiped clean<br />
from every ta<strong>in</strong>t of "orig<strong>in</strong>al s<strong>in</strong>" at <strong>the</strong> moment of<br />
