Test our telescopes and binoculars under field conditions! Go for a guided walk with our knowledgeable staff and try out a range of different optics out on the reserve! Enjoy the scenery and wildlife, whilst finding out what binoculars or telescope suits you best. Cost: £3 (refunded if you purchase a pair of binoculars, or a telescope, from the reserve shop on the day!) Mon 6 June Silver Tablet 2016 St Columba’s Church, Duchal Rd, Kilmacolm 2pm to 3.30pm The annual Silver Tablet Concert celebrates the best of musical talent from the St Columba Senior School (guests to be seated by 1.45pm). Sat 11 June Lochwinnoch Gala Day Lochwinnoch Cross 12noon Gala Day will start with the Parade bringing the Queen and her entourage to the Public Park which will assemble at Auld Simon at 12 noon, begin at 12.30pm, arriving at the Public Park at 1pm for the opening ceremony and Crowning of the Queen. This year we have St Columba’s Pipe Band leading the parade, together with some of the well known Star Wars characters. The event will be opened by Lochwinnoch’s lovely Carmen Pieraccini of River City fame!! Largs Horse Show 2016 Kip Marina, The Yacht Harbour, Inverkip, PA16 0AS Classes for horses & ponies, showing, M&M, Working Hunter, Showjumping. Rosettes 1st - 6th trophies for winners of each class. Championships with rosettes, trophies and sashes up for grabs. Sat 11 June Bioblitz! Have a go at recording (friendly advice on hand!), or join one of the team for a walk to see what you can find! We’ll also have representatives from other organizations to give lots of interesting info! Organisations attending in order to assist us include: The Butterfly Conservation Trust; Clyde Amphibian Group; The Scottish Wildlife Trust; TCV – The Conservation Volunteers; Field Studies Council & Field Studies Council Millport; The Glasgow Natural History Society; and OPAL will be sending two Community Scientists. Cost: FREE Sun 12 June A Concert of Light Classical Music St Fillans Church, Kilmacolm 3.30pm The concert is to raise money for the charity Bloodwise for leukaemia research. Accompanied by piano and cello, we will be singing items from operas, musicals and a tango. The concert also includes some items from ‘Oliver’ sung by young singing pupils. There is tea and cake afterwards in the church hall! Gala Praise Freeland Church, Main Street, Bridge of Weir 7pm All welcome. Hessilhead Open Day Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Trust, Gateside, Beith 12noon to 4pm Tours around some of the enclosures, the chance to see fox cubs, badger cubs, cygnets, ducklings, owls and many nestling birds being hand reared. A variety of stalls including bric a brac, cakes, books, plants, tombola, bottle stall and many children’s activities. We look forward to seeing you there.

Millport Fun’raiser Sunday 5th June starting from 11am at Garrison House, 2 College Street, Millport KA28 0DJ Join us for a 10 mile family cycle, a host of kids entertainment & activities, live bands, craft village, food and drink.
