I would like to firstly say thank you to everyone who put their trust in me. I will continue to serve as MSP representing the communities of Kilmacolm, Quarrier’s Village, Bridge of Weir, Houston, Crosslee Renfrew, Gallowhill, Langbank, Inchinnan, Bishopton and Erskine. I promise to serve my constituents in every way in which I can. My constituency office is open and my Monday morning telephone surgery has re-commenced - please call 0141 885 2076 between 10am and 11am. Alternatively, if you require assistance with any matter, you can contact my office anytime on the same number, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm or e-mail Derek.Mackay.msp@parliament.scot. My constituency wide surgery programme will re-commence after the summer recess, during which I will be in every part of Renfrewshire North & West speaking with constituents about what local issues matter most to them. During the election campaign my team and I spoke to 9,007 residents. A number of local issues were raised with me, and I now intend to take these matters forward on behalf of my constituents. These issues included local road conditions, street cleaning, traffic management and street lighting, all of which are of course the responsibility of local authorities, however, I know just how strongly my constituents feel about these issues and it is my duty to stand up for them.
