o Set of Mechanical Sockets and Wrenches (¼" - 1 ¼" Imperial Sizes)
o 4 foot (1219 mm) Carpenter’s Level and Square
o ⅜" Reversible Hand Drill (Variable Speed)
o Carbide Drill Bits, ⅜" (10 mm) and ½" (13 mm)
o ½" Hammer Drill (for concrete fasteners)
o Pry Bar
o Chain Hoist (required for higher travel units), minimum ½ ton capacity
o Hand Dolly
o Temporary Run Buttons (refer to Appendix B Parts List)
o Scratch Point Awl
o Plumb Bob and Line
o Chalk Line
o Tape Measure
o Wire Tie Wraps
o Wire Puller (50 feet of ⅛" fish tape)
o Volt-Ohm Meter (V.O.M.)
o Stop Watch or Tachometer (to set final speed)
o Funnel (for filling the oil reservoir)
o Vise-Grip Pliers (standard and wide jaw welder’s type)
o Rags and Cleaning Solvent
o 100 foot (30 m) Extension Cord (Minimum 14 gauge wire)
o 10" (250 mm) (Medium Cut) File (for filing joints, if required)
o Scaffolding or ladders and planks for erection of rails and brackets
o Wire Strippers
o Temporary Light for hoistway
o ½" Rope, minimum length to be as long as the hoistway height
o Rubber Mallet
o Speedy Jig (refer to Appendix B Parts List)
o 2 Strap Wrenches for Split Cylinders
o Lifting Sling (Cable or Nylon Strap of Adequate Strength)
o Coated Steel Shims, minimum 4" (100 mm) square
o Wall Anchors
o 10 Gauge and 14 Gauge Wire for motor and light wiring
o Assorted Butt Electrical Wire Connectors and Crimping Tool
o 32 Grade Hydraulic Oil, maximum 20 gallon (will vary depending on travel)
o ½" Electrical Box Connectors
o Hoistway Wiring Materials (varies depending on local codes), 20 gauge stranded
multi-wire cable with 20-28 conductors for connecting the pump controller to the
travelling cable at the halfway box.
