The March for Science today announced<br />

its first round of partner organizations,<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g many lead<strong>in</strong>g scientific, academic,<br />

and educational <strong>in</strong>stitutions, among<br />

them, Earth <strong>Day</strong> Network (EDN), which<br />

will co-organize the national March for<br />

Science rally and teach-<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> Wash<strong>in</strong>gton,<br />

D.C. on Earth <strong>Day</strong>, Saturday, April 22.<br />

In just the last month s<strong>in</strong>ce the concept of<br />

a March for Science went viral onl<strong>in</strong>e, 287<br />

satellite marches across the globe have been<br />

organized with more com<strong>in</strong>g onl<strong>in</strong>e every<br />

day, and more than 50,000 volunteers have<br />

responded to offer assistance.<br />

Major partners <strong>in</strong>clude the American<br />

Association for the Advancement of Science,<br />

the world’s largest general scientific<br />

organization and a lead<strong>in</strong>g publisher of<br />

cutt<strong>in</strong>g-edge research through its Science<br />

family of journals; Sigma Xi, the first scientific<br />

organization to partner with the<br />

march, and one of the oldest and largest<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternational scientific research honor<br />

societies <strong>in</strong> the world; the Entomological<br />

Society of America, the largest organization<br />

<strong>in</strong> the world serv<strong>in</strong>g the professional<br />

and scientific needs of entomologists<br />

and <strong>in</strong>dividuals <strong>in</strong> related discipl<strong>in</strong>es;<br />

NextGen Climate America, a non-partisan,<br />

non-profit organization dedicated to<br />

advanc<strong>in</strong>g policies to prevent climate disaster,<br />

promot<strong>in</strong>g prosperity, and protect<strong>in</strong>g<br />

fundamental rights for every American;<br />

and ScienceDebate.org, which organized<br />

a blue-ribbon coalition of 56 lead<strong>in</strong>g U.S.<br />

non-partisan organizations, represent<strong>in</strong>g<br />

more than 10 million scientists and eng<strong>in</strong>eers,<br />

to solicit responses to science-related<br />

questions from presidential candidates.<br />

Anthropological Association, the American<br />

Association of University Professors, the<br />

American Geophysical Union, the Center<br />

for Biological Diversity, the Consortium of<br />

Social Science Associations, the International<br />

Federation of Professional and Technical<br />

Eng<strong>in</strong>eers AFL-CIO, the New York<br />

Academy of Sciences, Research!America,<br />

the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/<br />

Hispanics and Native Americans <strong>in</strong> Science,<br />

and the Union of Concerned Scientists.<br />
