Ocoee High School hosted the HapCo<br />
2017 Jazz Fest, an all-day free clinic with<br />
jazz professionals. Twenty bands benefited<br />
from the tutelage of Bernie Hendricks of the<br />
Ocoee High School jazz band; Jeff Rupert,<br />
director of The Flying Horse Big Band aka<br />
The University of Central Florida Jazz<br />
Ensemble; and Scott Wilson, the University<br />
of Florida’s jazz band director. The<br />
workshops included group and breakout<br />
sessions, as well as information about<br />
educational and financial resource guidance<br />
on pursuing a professional musical career.<br />
Participants were invited to attend an<br />
evening concert for free at the OHS<br />
auditorium. Performances were given by the<br />
Ocoee High School jazz band, The Flying<br />
Horse Big Band aka UCF Jazz Ensemble, The<br />
Peter & Will Anderson Trio with Adam<br />
Moezinia, and the UF jazz band.
