FOR RED WINE<br />
Globally, red wine accounts for 54% of all still wine<br />
sales, and is predicted to grow by around 0.3% in<br />
the period between 2015 and 2019.<br />
While the USA is the world’s biggest market for<br />
red wine, with over 136 million cases consumed<br />
in 2014, it is in Asia-Pacific where the future and<br />
market for red wine is particularly strong and where<br />
wine consumption is heavily skewed towards red<br />
wines.<br />
CHINA - China is now the third largest consumer<br />
of red wine in the world and slowly catching up with<br />
France with sales soaring by 74% between 2009<br />
and 2013. But the rate of growth is predicted to<br />
fall by 2.6% in the five years to 2019, to 135<br />
million cases.<br />
KOREA - In South Korea red wine accounts<br />
for nearly three quarters (73.7%) of all still wine<br />
consumption.<br />

a blend created in homage to the original<br />
1765 style, is the epitome of the quality of<br />
the products it offers. The brand is also at<br />
the forefront of the new mixology trend and<br />
has recently developed links with key stars<br />
in this field including top mixologist and<br />
barman, Stephen Martin.<br />
Just Like a Nugget: A Rare Find<br />
SINGAPORE - In Singapore red wine<br />
represents 70% of all wine consumed, with<br />
645,000 cases sold in 2014.<br />
TAIWAN - In Taiwan red wine accounts for<br />
89% of still wine consumption, amounting to 1.45<br />
million cases. This is forecast to grow by a further<br />
12.8% in the next three years.<br />
JAPAN - Red wine also accounts for around<br />
two thirds of all wine consumption in Japan. This<br />
rose by over 34% in the four years to 2012, and is<br />
expected to grow by over 3% in the next five years.<br />

Château Cabezac is launching a new<br />
range of wines at <strong>Vinexpo</strong> Hong Kong,<br />
from their new vineyard “Mas Roc<br />
de Bô”. The range is called “Pépite”<br />
(meaning “nugget”), with Pépite Noire<br />
2014, Pépite Originale 2014, and<br />
Pépite Dorée 2014 presented during<br />
the show.<br />
Located in the Languedoc-Roussillon<br />
region in southern France, the estate is<br />
classed entirely Appellation d’Origine<br />
Minervois Protégé. The plots are<br />
situated on the limestone Cazelles<br />
plateau, a terroir characterised by<br />
a high content of organic matter and<br />
stones, and aging takes place for 12<br />
months in French oak barrels.<br />
The robe of Pépite Originale is a<br />
sumptuous deep red with purple<br />
reflections. The bouquet is rich and<br />
after airing notes of the wild mountain<br />
scrubland where the grapes are grown<br />
are revealed, with its heady mix of<br />
herbs and flowers. The powerful palate<br />
is garnered with silky but ever present<br />
tannins. The oak aging bestows this<br />
complex and elegant wine with vivacity<br />
and energy.<br />
