Miller <strong>to</strong> <strong>be</strong> tried <strong>as</strong> an adult in Mansfield murder<br />

T<strong>he</strong> 16-year-old Maplewood High School student<br />

who w<strong>as</strong> arrested and charged with t<strong>he</strong> murder of Eric<br />

Scott Mansfield h<strong>as</strong> <strong>be</strong>en transferred in<strong>to</strong> t<strong>he</strong> adult criminal<br />

court system, said t<strong>he</strong> detective <strong>he</strong>ading up t<strong>he</strong><br />

investigation.<br />

Dionvelt Miller, a 10th grader at Maplewood, w<strong>as</strong><br />

arrested by Metro Police on Dec. 7 after a tip from<br />

CrimeS<strong>to</strong>ppers led <strong>to</strong> his arrest. He w<strong>as</strong> arrested at his<br />

home at 2160 Rock City Street. He w<strong>as</strong> charged with<br />

criminal homicide, aggravated rob<strong>be</strong>ry and two counts<br />

of unlawful weapon possession.<br />

“We are awaiting t<strong>he</strong> grand jury <strong>to</strong> present t<strong>he</strong> c<strong>as</strong>e.<br />

After t<strong>he</strong> c<strong>as</strong>e is presented we will <strong>be</strong> playing t<strong>he</strong> waiting<br />

game for a trial date,” said Sgt. Anna-Maria Williams<br />

with t<strong>he</strong> Metro Police E<strong>as</strong>t investigative unit. “T<strong>he</strong> date<br />

t<strong>he</strong> trial is set is dependent upon several things, including<br />

how backed up t<strong>he</strong> courts are and w<strong>he</strong>n a date will<br />

work for both t<strong>he</strong> prosecution and defense.”<br />

Miller will stand trial along with 18-year-old Anthony<br />

Robinson, who w<strong>as</strong><br />

charged with criminal<br />

homicide and rob<strong>be</strong>ry.<br />

Robinson is <strong>be</strong>lieved<br />

by police <strong>to</strong> have <strong>be</strong>en<br />

with Miller during t<strong>he</strong><br />

incident.<br />
