Well, t<strong>he</strong> HRC Dinner w<strong>as</strong><br />
quite a sm<strong>as</strong>hing success again this<br />
year.<br />
Although...<strong>as</strong> we ALL know I<br />
am NOT one <strong>to</strong> complain,<br />
BUT...it w<strong>as</strong> a little difficult <strong>to</strong><br />
cover all t<strong>he</strong> events taking place<br />
from our little CORNER of t<strong>he</strong><br />
room! I almost needed a pair of<br />
roller skates AND binoculars <strong>to</strong><br />
capture all t<strong>he</strong> news.<br />
But, you can rest <strong>as</strong>sured I didn’t<br />
let a little thing like that s<strong>to</strong>p<br />
me! While I am thinking about<br />
it, my husband AJ w<strong>as</strong> seated<br />
right up front, without t<strong>he</strong> slightest<br />
bit of guilt (or inquiry) of<br />
WHERE I might <strong>be</strong> seated! Can<br />
you spell d-i-v-o-r-c-e Tammy?<br />
T<strong>he</strong> dinner w<strong>as</strong> excellent,<br />
although I w<strong>as</strong> not really sure if<br />
those were m<strong>as</strong><strong>he</strong>d pota<strong>to</strong>es or<br />
something very similar. However,<br />
t<strong>he</strong>y were still very t<strong>as</strong>ty no matter<br />
what t<strong>he</strong>y were. After referring <strong>to</strong><br />
my menu, I have discovered that it<br />
w<strong>as</strong> corn polenta. (W<strong>he</strong>re do t<strong>he</strong>y<br />
find t<strong>he</strong>se dis<strong>he</strong>s?) And, while I am<br />
on t<strong>he</strong> subject, what is broccolini?<br />
I liked t<strong>he</strong> way t<strong>he</strong>y had t<strong>he</strong><br />
silent auction set upstairs this year,<br />
with quite an array of items <strong>to</strong> bid<br />
on. T<strong>he</strong> addition of music <strong>be</strong>ing<br />
played while browsing w<strong>as</strong> anot<strong>he</strong>r<br />
nice <strong>to</strong>uch.<br />
N<strong>as</strong>hville In Harmony performed<br />
right <strong>be</strong>fore dinner <strong>be</strong>gan<br />
and t<strong>he</strong>y were outstanding <strong>as</strong><br />
usual.<br />
T<strong>he</strong> entertainment w<strong>as</strong> fabulous!<br />
N<strong>as</strong>hville’s own Jen Foster w<strong>as</strong><br />
joined by Stephanie Callahan (of<br />
Halcyon fame). T<strong>he</strong>y did an<br />
acoustic set that w<strong>as</strong> very good.<br />
Lee Ann Womack sounded amazing<br />
and of course s<strong>he</strong> sang “I<br />
Hope You Dance,” although I didn’t<br />
really see any body take <strong>he</strong>r up<br />
on that one.<br />
HELLOOO...? Ro<strong>be</strong>rt Gant<br />
gave an interesting talk, saying t<strong>he</strong><br />
time for feeling like second cl<strong>as</strong>s<br />
citizens is over.<br />
T<strong>he</strong> one thing I can say about<br />
t<strong>he</strong> entire evening is this, t<strong>he</strong>re<br />
were quite a few “shiny, happy<br />
people” in attendance for a great<br />
cause! Don’t forget t<strong>he</strong>re is<br />
ALWAYS time <strong>to</strong> donate <strong>to</strong> this<br />
cause, so DIG DEEP!<br />
Till next time.... <br />
