35 years, but Anil<br />

Kapoor at 60 (yes,<br />

that is his age) seems<br />

to be drinking straight from the fountain<br />

of youth. The only thing that<br />

unfortunately slowed him down,<br />

“temporarily”, he is quick to add, is a<br />

recent inflammation in his left leg,<br />

because of which he has been advised<br />

strict bed rest for a month. The actorproducer<br />

is down with knee bursitis, an<br />

inflammation in the leg which can prove<br />

permanently damaging to the leg if not<br />

treated properly.<br />

The actor was in the midst of<br />

wrapping up the shoot for Mubarakaan,<br />

which also stars nephew Arjun Kapoor.<br />

“I love my work and I take it seriously,<br />

but not myself. However, if I commit to<br />

something, I will give it my 100 per cent.<br />

Besides that, I don’t consider myself a<br />

genius,” Kapoor says, while speaking<br />

about his life, career and kids.<br />

You don’t look your age, touch wood. What<br />

is the secret?<br />

Two things - what I eat and how I<br />

exercise. The two go hand-in-hand. You<br />

owe it to your body to treat it well.<br />

Staying healthy and fit is just a matter of<br />

discipline. I think I look better now than<br />

I ever did. I believe sugar is my biggest<br />

enemy so I avoid it. Also, I fear my wife<br />

Sunita. So I ensure she sits next to me<br />

whenever possible, during dinner or on<br />

night outs. She ensures I don’t eat what is<br />

not good for me.<br />

What are your meals like?<br />

Very boring, I must be honest (smiles). In<br />

fact, all my co-stars complain that I sleep<br />

too early and eat too little and too<br />

healthy. For the first three days of the<br />

week, I stay away from all solid food, and<br />

stick to juices, milk shakes and a solution<br />

that is packed with minerals and carbs.<br />

On the fourth day, I eat some light food,<br />
