MOS 97L, Translator/Interpreter, is created for Army Reserve Component<br />
(RC) linguists. The Language Working Group is established at Fort<br />
Huachuca, Arizona.<br />
Doctrine for the handling <strong>of</strong> Enemy Prisoners <strong>of</strong> War (EPW) is revised.<br />
Revolution in MI: Doctrinal and training focus moves to low intensity and regional<br />
confl ict. Emphasis in the disciplines shifts from Signals <strong>Intelligence</strong><br />
(SIGINT) to Human <strong>Intelligence</strong> (HUMINT).<br />
MI training courses are transferred from Fort Devens, Massachusetts, to<br />
Fort Huachuca.<br />
The UAV Task Force is established to coordinate all UAV issues for Fort<br />
Huachuca; UAV master plan is developed to serve as a guide for a national<br />
UAV training center.<br />
The NCOA is accredited. The newly built NCO academic complex is dedicated.<br />

The All Source Analysis System (ASAS) is fi elded. ASAS training is incorporated<br />
into selected Advanced Individual Training (AIT) and Basic Noncommissioned<br />
Offi cer Courses (BNCOCs).<br />
The Army Family Team Building Program is implemented.<br />
MOS 97L, Translator/Interpreter, created for Army Reserve Component<br />
(RC) linguists.<br />
Environmental Awareness training is added to the BNCOC Common Core.<br />
More emphasis is placed on language skills in the BNCOC and Advanced<br />
NCO Courses.<br />
Changes come to CMF 98. MOS 98D, Emitter Locator/Identifi er, is merged<br />
into MOS 98H to become MOS 98H Morse/Non-Morse Communications Interceptor/Locator.<br />
