16 You turn things upside down! Shall the potter <strong>be</strong> regarded as the clay, that<br />

the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing<br />

formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?<br />

17 Is it not yet a very little while until Lebanon shall <strong>be</strong> turned in<strong>to</strong> a fruitful<br />

field, and the fruitful field shall <strong>be</strong> regarded as a forest?<br />

18 In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom<br />

and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see.<br />

Remem<strong>be</strong>r that when a statement in the earlier scriptures is found also in the<br />

Quran, then this is proof of its validity. This is <strong>be</strong>cause if it is confirmed by the later<br />

scripture, it is clearly a remnant of the original revelation, which was not deleted or<br />

changed over time by those who rewrote the Bible.<br />

15.5 Fulfilment of prophecies which he fore<strong>to</strong>ld<br />

Proof 21: One may ask what criterion should <strong>be</strong> used <strong>to</strong> distinguish <strong>be</strong>tween a<br />

genuine prophet and false prophets (who might also presume <strong>to</strong> speak in the<br />

name of Allah)?<br />

The answer <strong>to</strong> this question is clearly given in the concluding verses of Chapter<br />

18 of the Book of Deuteronomy:<br />

And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the LORD<br />

has not spoken?’—when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the<br />

word does not come <strong>to</strong> pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has<br />

not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not <strong>be</strong> afraid<br />

of him. (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)<br />

Jesus (pbuh) is reported <strong>to</strong> have said about his successor, “He will declare <strong>to</strong> you<br />

the things that are <strong>to</strong> come.” (John 16:13)<br />

It is a fact that not a single prophecy made by the Quran or by Prophet<br />

Muhammad (bpuh) has proved <strong>to</strong> <strong>be</strong> inaccurate in the least. Every prophecy made<br />

about the near future during his time did come <strong>to</strong> pass. Examples of these are:<br />
