appropriate direction. Ensure that there are 50 to 100<br />

meters between the team's vehicles. The interval<br />

between the teams will be 100 to 200 meters (terrain<br />

dependent). The HQ element occupies the center of the<br />

formation. Each platoon must have its own SOP for the<br />

formation based on its METL, war plans, and most<br />

common organization; it should practice the SOP as a<br />

drill to ensure correct execution. Figure 3-9 depicts an<br />

MP platoon in a coil formation.<br />
